Ship class

Purpose

• independent pilotage of ships;
• operations as an assisting icebreaker within complex trains on the North Sea Route (NSR) as well as independent pilotage in shallow Arctic areas and estuaries of the Siberian rivers;
  
• unloading of cargo onto the fast ice;
  
• towing of ships and other floating structures in ice and in open water;
  
• assistance to ships and salvage and rescue operations in ice conditions and in open water, expedition voyages;
• support of underwater engineering operations by applying a container-type shipboard diving complex where available in areas of operation of drilling rigs and oil production platforms, laying of underwater pipelines;
• seabed research, search and rescue operations with the use of special complexes fitted onboard the ship;
• operations as a fire-fighting ship when extinguishing the fire on ships, drilling rigs and oil production platforms.
